I have been knitting with yarn from Colinette for many years, and have always been very satisfied with the quality of the yarn. I have also had several orders shipped to Norway, and both customer service and delivery are excellent.
Why would I order my yarn from Britain when I’m in Canada. The main reason, of course is top quality wools. The other many reasons can be seen on one of the best websites I go to regularly - breathtaking colour, succinct info and, lately, marvellously written, funny and quirky emails and blogs from the company’s new HQ in Wiltshire. Got a missive today from ‘Sam’ about entanglement and using expressions like ‘Bazinga,’ ‘Whammo’ and ‘like a plate of spaghetti arrabiata’. Makes one want to run to the chesterfield and turn out a bunny hug or a toque. Nothing dull about these yarn spinners. Brightens up a Canuck winter with “Vibrancy, Love, Passion, Yarn, Wool and Fibre.” Thanks, Colinette.

Your yarn is absolutely gorgeous. However, the wool I ordered was not the colour I received. I emailed your customer service and was told to send it back. I did so and some days later the correct colour was sent to me. But, and this does matter, at no point did the person apologise to me or acknowledge the hassle and time spent for me having to return the wrong wool. When I received a new email with a tracking number from the delivery service, I had no idea what was happening, I just guessed it was the correct colour being sent. So I emailed the office to ask if this was the case: no reply.
I work with the public, and the easiest most effective thing one can do is be polite and keep people informed. I felt somewhat disappointed on both these scores.

Can you interchange the yarns?
Not all of them. You can interchange the mohair skeins with mohair. You can interchange the DK with the DK skeins. The other skeins (cotton tape E, Aran 120g B and Aran 80g F) are NOT interchangeable
Is there enough yarn to make a throw?
Yes there are three designs and enough yarn to make any one of the designs.
What are the sizes of the throw?
Throws measure typically 78cm x 145cm
Are the crochet patterns the same as the knitted pattern?
The Crochet patterns mimic the knitted patterns but are interpretations of these designs.
Are the kits hard to make?
Colinette believes in keeping things nice and easy. Most of the time the throws are done on 8mm needles and use basic techniques.
What size knitting needles?
Generally the patterns use 8mm knitting but the information will be included in the booklet.
What do you mean by the colours vary?
With each colourway we select individual hanks that maintain the spirit of the core colours. For example 'tidal trace', will always be soft blues with hints of green and pink. The ‘free spirit’ kit takes its name from this variety and sense of adventure.
